Our FAQ

The municipal building permit process typically requires a minimum of 28 days for approval, subject to the submission of all necessary documents and compliance with local regulations.

The building construction permit process begins with finalizing a designer who is registered with the Nepal Engineering Council. Before commencing any construction on land within any municipal territory, it is mandatory to obtain a temporary construction permit from the local municipal authority. All construction activities must strictly comply with the Building Code established by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City as well as the Nepal National Building Code. Upon completion of the construction, the building owner is required to submit an application for a completion certificate. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) will conduct a thorough field verification to ensure that the construction aligns with the approved designs, drawings, and applicable building codes. Only after successful verification will KMC issue the official completion certificate, confirming that the building meets all regulatory standards.

During the initial meeting, we guide clients to adopt a perspective, ensuring that every aspect of the project delivers added value as it progresses. We carefully manage the project requirements by interplay between topographical, climatic, technical, spatial, aesthetic and financial factors to provide a comprehensive approach that aligns with the client’s vision and goals.

Our consulting fees cover a comprehensive range of services, including design drawings, detailed cost estimates, 3D visualizations, material selection guidance, and dedicated construction supervision to ensure quality and compliance throughout the project. For construction services, our fees encompass all work outlined in the approved plan and Bill of Quantities (BOQ), providing full transparency and control over project costs. Fee structures are typically based on the project’s built-up area or overall construction cost, adhering to the minimum consulting fee guidelines established by the Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) and industry standards. This ensures competitive and fair pricing tailored to the scope and complexity of each project

Our construction project management services provide comprehensive support to ensure smooth and efficient project execution, including: Regular communication and updates with the client to maintain transparency Detailed scheduling and coordination of construction activities Implementation and monitoring of health and safety measures on site Providing technical guidance and instructions to construction workers Conducting quantity surveys to track material and labor usage Preparation and verification of contractor bills in accordance with completed work items This integrated approach helps deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The duration for designing and constructing a house or completing a renovation varies depending on the size, complexity, and other factors such as permits, material availability, and weather conditions. Typically, the timeline is as follows: - For residences up to 4,000 sq. ft.: approximately 6 to 9 months - For residences between 4,000 and 8,000 sq. ft.: approximately 9 to 15 months - For residences above 8,000 sq. ft.: 12 months or more These timeframes include all phases from design and planning to construction and finishing. Delays can occur due to factors such as labor availability, seasonal weather, and regulatory approvals. With effective project management and planning, many projects in Kathmandu are completed within these ranges, ensuring quality and compliance with local building codes.
